Lower Moss Wood Could Close Early 2025

Ray Jackson, the warden of Lower Moss Wood is currently trying to raise funds of around £100,000 by early January 2025 to keep it going.

To help keep the hospital open, volunteers have started a GoFundMe campaign to raise around £100,000, which is the cost of running the hospital for one year and also funds such things as food, heat, light, and staff.

You can donate via their website https://lowermosswood.com/

The charity is also asking people to share their appeal to help raise awareness.

Lower Moss Wood is a private nature reserve and wildlife hospital that cares for sick, injured, and orphaned wild animals and birds. It’s only open for organized visits from schools, environmental groups, and disabled visitors. The reserve also has a shop that sells gift ideas and charity items.

Our group will be donating a significant part of our funds to help. We owe it to Ray to give him some support in his ‘hour of need’.

We have been based at Lower Moss Wood for nearly 25 years for meetings, box making days and storage of wood and equipment.
