Is Cheshire ‘Bucking’ the Trend Again??

I watched Springwatch last night (5 June), which reported poor barn owl activity in a number of areas of the UK, citing poor winter weather and low vole and shrew breeding as the main causes.
However, our recent experiences here in Cheshire suggests that barn owl activity in the county seems quite buoyant, with good barn owl breeding activity and good vole and shrew supply.
We certainly had better winter weather than most. Perhaps that is why we are bucking the trend here again in Cheshire?
